My Journey

Becoming both a published author as well as a landscape & garden designer has been a joy and an experience that I had not expected.

I was raised in England amongst the best traditions of English gardening, in a large house with a large garden and a large family, many of whom would have put a career professional to shame with their knowledge of plants and their devotion to growing them!

That environment fostered my passion for plants and is the reason my work has been all about the amazing plant kingdom -and the gardens we make with them -  for more decades than I care to count

You can find more about my experiences in gardening and landscape design here

Some 25 years ago I started doing inspections for organic certification for MOFGA, and this is where I found the impetus to write a story.

It's often been said that writers should "write what they know". While I didn't have personal experience with mysterious murders (or murders of any sort), my inspection work has provided me with a unique look into the operations of the maple syrup industry and the people who toil in order to bring sugary sweetness to our tables. From that, "Murder in the Maple Woods" was born.

You can learn more about the story and how it came to be, here.

Thank you for visiting my site. I look forward to having you join me as my journey continues!
